It’s the 2nd Annual Christopher Novak Extravaganza featuring:
Trying to find where the “casual” part of Casual War comes in. In the what they publish about themselves they seem nonchalant, judging from not heavily curated Instagram, or the title of their EP, Demo, but the music’s a different story. Led by a frontwoman with a voice reminiscent of Nightwish and Evanescence, their take on indie rock can be dark and heavy.
Atheists and Airplanes
Atheists and Airplanes is a indie/ garage/ noise rock band based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Made of three members, Emily, Beth and Jen combine influences from punk, classic rock, blues, grunge and existentialist philosophy to create music that is part noise, part Nietzsche.
The band’s name is borrowed from the notoriously provocative 1970s feminist novel “Fear of Flying” by Erica Jong, in which the author speculates that there are no atheists on turbulent airplanes.
This Random Machine x Amanda Huff
This Random Machine is the new project from William Ryan Gardiner, formerly of GGOOLLDD and Ikarus Down and co-owner of Hear Here Records and Studios. Amanda Huff is an electronic musician, film composer, lawful-evil sorcerer and bug extraordinaire hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and if you don’t know her by now, you’ve clearly been living under a rock. Together they released their first single together, “DIVISION” in November 2019.
“A seamless blend of psychedelic rock, punk, and old-school country that will have you moshing in your cowboy hats… They’re a hard working group that is no stranger to DIY ethic and you can find them on the road quite a bit.” – The Noisy Neighbor
Wood Chickens is one of The Cooperage’s favorite bands of 2019. Do not miss them if given the opportunity.
